Scissor Lift Sales
While its great to get a bargain, the
most crucial feature of any scissor lift or articulating boom lift is
that it is well maintained and safe.
The most important thing to consider when
purchasing a scissor lift is safety. This makes the notion of a “sale”
on scissor lifts dangerous, as it makes price the most important thing.
While its great to get a bargain, the most crucial feature of any
scissor lift or articulating boom lift is that it is well maintained and
safe. This holds true for both new and reconditioned equipment.
There are several of these machines for sale at any one time. One reason
there is so many heavy equipment machines up for sale is the high
business turnover in this country. This becomes even more magnified
during tough economic times, when it is difficult for free-lance
construction, maintenance, and contracting companies to keep their head
above water. Scissor lifts that are on sale are often the result of
bankruptcy liquidation, not a company that wants to upgrade to newer
equipment with more features.
Most effective sellers of heavy equipment, be they auctions or not, have
procedures in place to help the consumer through the entire transaction,
from the initial assessment of the equipment to making sure
transportation to your site run smoothly. To ensure customer
satisfaction these sellers will provide a complete equipment list when
you arrive (or ideally ahead of time), have a knowledgeable sales force,
have on site mechanics who are familiar with the various models up for
auction, and make sure there is reliable transportation available to get
your new heavy equipment home.
An auction house that does not have those things listed above should
give you cause for concern. An auction that hires incompetent and
unorganized employees is more likely to have equipment that is in poor
shape and not adequately described in the catalog. It makes sense to ask
about an auctions reputation prior to attending.
